2018 JA Day - Indiana FFA - Trafalgar, IN
Saturday, October 27, 2018
Indiana FFA Leadership Center

On Saturday, October 27, we will have a full day of JA-related discussions, presentations, and activities in a beautiful setting at the Indiana FFA Leadership & Retreat Center in Trafalgar, IN.

  • Programming Topic(s)- School Solutions for JA- 504 and IEP plans, accommodations, peer pressure and bullying, medical Q&A with a pediatric rheumatologist and/or social worker (to be announced).
  • Youth topic- Teen Transitions (managing your first job, taking responsibility for appointments and prescriptions, time management in school, relationships).
  • Networking with other JA families!
  • Lunch provided!
  • Team Building Activities- low ropes courses, hiking, scavenger hunts, and more!
In 2018, the Arthritis Foundation is dedicated to reaching and serving more Juvenile Arthritis families than ever! These programs are informative and supportive events that deal with various aspects of living with JA, including an overview of the disease, medications, pain management techniques, exercise and more! Doctors and other health care professionals are often in attendance. While some events are educational and learning experiences, there are others that are social, interactive and fun in a safe environment where JA families can relax and network.

These programs are a great experience for the child with JA, their parents or caregivers and siblings. The greatest benefit of these programs is getting to meet others who are dealing with similar issues, who share the same feelings, experiences and concerns. It’s a place to exchange ideas, give and receive encouragement, make new friends and know you’re not alone.
